MUSLIM MIND COLLABORATIVE
STRATEGIC ADVISOR
Project Snapshot
Muslim Mind Collaborative is the UK’s first multi-agency platform focused on faith equity in mental health. Founded in response to systemic gaps in how Muslim communities are understood and supported within mental health services, the collaborative brings together voices from across education, health, and social care to shift both practice and policy.
Approach & Ethos
Sabah’s work with Muslim Mind reflects her belief that systems change begins with voice, visibility, and practical tools. Her strategy combines collaborative design with deep listening — ensuring that Muslim communities aren’t treated as an afterthought, but as active stakeholders in shaping mental health services that truly serve.

Sabah's Role & Impact
-
Co-founded and shaped the vision for a collaborative national platform centring Muslim mental health needs.
-
Developed a national training programme in partnership with Mind UK, aimed at schools, health professionals, and social care teams.
-
Led advocacy efforts to increase representation of Muslim communities in policy conversations around mental health.
-
Positioned the collaborative as a values-driven, solutions-focused space for faith-informed approaches to care and wellbeing.
Championing Faith-Sensitive Mental Health in Schools
Value Every Mind (VEM) and Resilient Minds are two school-based mental health initiatives I’ve helped design and nurture through the Muslim Mind Collaborative. Together, they bring culturally and faith-sensitive wellbeing education into both Islamic and mainstream schools, supporting thousands of young people to understand stress, anxiety, identity, and emotional resilience in ways that feel relevant and accessible to them. Through creative expression, psychoeducation, and trusted role models, these programmes give young Muslims language for their emotions, a sense of belonging, and practical tools to care for their wellbeing. For me, this work is deeply personal, a way of ensuring today’s students receive the support, representation, and encouragement many of us never had, and a step towards embedding faith-equitable mental health provision across the UK.
