National Zakat Foundation – Trustee

Project Snapshot

As a Trustee of the National Zakat Foundation, Sabah played a vital role in guiding the organisation through a period of strategic evolution — particularly in grant-making and impact growth. Her contributions helped ensure that zakat remained both spiritually rooted and socially responsive.

Approach & Ethos

Sabah brought deep sensitivity to the ethical and community dimensions of zakat distribution. Her approach centred access, dignity, and alignment with lived needs — not just financial metrics.

Sabah’s Role & Impact

– Contributed to the development of grant-making strategies focused on direct, dignified support for those in hardship.

– Supported the strengthening of governance, enabling NZF to increase operational effectiveness and clarity of mission.

– Oversaw key decisions that contributed to a financial turnover surpassing £4 million, expanding NZF’s reach and resilience.

– Acted as a voice for community-driven values within the Board, bridging grassroots realities with strategic priorities.

“Zakat has always been about redistributing hope. My role was to help ensure we did that with integrity and care.”
